Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering an internship position within the Energy Supply Strategy, Governance, and Business Operations organization in Minneapolis. You will develop internal communications, create leadership materials, and support governance activities in a hybrid environment.

The role provides exposure to executive communications, business planning, performance reporting, and cross-functional collaboration within a large utility.

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher.
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) or part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person per hybrid policy.
• Strong writing experience and comfortable with building presentations via PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and distributing internal communications, announcements, newsletters, and employee engagement materials.
• Create and update presentations, executive briefing materials, infographics, and other visual communication tools.
• Support SharePoint site maintenance, content development, and communication resource management.
• Review and document business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and assist with process standardization efforts.
• Support business operations activities including reporting, meeting coordination, action tracking, and governance documentation.
