Job Description

Perform technical support duties in law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services communication, including the reception, monitoring and transmission of oral messages over a variety of communication networks and systems. Work in stressful, fast paced and rapidly evolving situations, with rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to type 40-wpm and read and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for communications across law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services. Monitor and transmit oral messages using multiple networks and systems. Operate under stress in fast-paced environments and adhere to rotating shift schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Type at least 40 words per minute and follow written and oral instructions accurately.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No felony convictions on record and no misdemeanor convictions within one year of application.
• Valid Oregon driver's license with insurance.
• Must possess or be able to acquire within eighteen months of initial appointment, a Basic DPSST certification, and Emergency Medical Dispatch certification.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification desirable but not required.
• Must submit to and pass a physiological evaluation and an in-depth pre-employment background investigation in accordance with PL 101-630 (Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act), PL-90-618 (Gun Control Act) and PL 101-647 (Crime Control Act of 1990).
• Must submit to and pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening.
