Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a skilled cabling technician to install copper and fiber, terminate and test cables, and support panel/equipment installations at commercial sites. You will mentor apprentices and follow plans with safety first in mind.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of field experience, and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. Willingness to travel and work across locations is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years of experience.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the jobsite.
• Valid driver's license to operate equipment; training provided.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Install Category-rated copper and fiber optic cable.
• Terminate and test horizontal copper cabling.
• Terminate fiber optic cable via anaerobic, mechanical and fusion splicing.
• Terminate copper riser cable and install panels, enclosures, and electronics.
• Read and follow plans and specifications; mentor apprentices.
• Assist in OSP installations and perform site cleanup.
