Job summary

M.C. Dean is hiring a Communications Technician 1 to plan, lay out, and install new and retrofit communications systems per plans and standards. The role includes pulling copper and fiber, terminating, testing, and ensuring safety on site in a fast-paced environment.

You will read plans, wire cabling to spec, and support apprentices while maintaining quality. Strong physical stamina and a readiness to travel as needed are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3+ years of experience.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the jobsite.
• Must have a valid driver’s license to operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installation of Category copper and fiber optic cable.
• Terminating and testing copper cabling and fiber optics.
• Mentor apprentices and assist in OSP installations.
• Read and follow plans and specifications.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and proper tool use.
