Job summary

Novant Health’s Regional Transfer Center in Wilmington, NC, seeks an organized professional for full-time day shifts (6:15am–6:45pm). You will collaborate with physicians and facilities to determine transport needs, monitor unit status, and ensure accurate patient documentation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with two years’ transport/dispatch experience and a CFCC certification within 90 days. EMT certification preferred; aviation terminology knowledge advantageous.

Qualifications

Welcome to Regional Transfer Center Full Time Day– Make a Difference with a Team That Feels Like Home!

Operates in the Regional Transfer Center under the supervision of the Manager of Throughput in a safe and efficient manner. Responds appropriately using discretion and independent judgment to a wide variety of requests from physicians, outlying facilities and 911 centers to determine appropriate level of care, transport mode (air/ground), type of unit, and division or agency to contact to facilitate the transport. Coordinates in a timely manner all aspects of the mission and monitors the location and status of all transport units at all times while maintaining safety as a priority. Collects and maintains accurate records of information including pre and post transport patient documentation and transport records.

What We're Looking For
  • Education:High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate’s degree, preferred. Degree in related field.
  • Experience:Minimum of two years transport/dispatch, required.
  • Licensure/Certification:Certified Flight Communicator through International Association of Medical Transport Communication Specialists. Required within 90 days of hire date, required. Current and valid NC EMT certification or equivalent education, preferred.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements (required):Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred):Working knowledge of Viper, 800, VHF radio system, and aviation terminology.
