Job summary

TLC Engineering Solutions in Tampa, FL is seeking an Experienced Commissioning Specialist to lead building commissioning on diverse MEP projects. You will work with Project Managers and Commissioning Agents, from design review through functional testing, on projects of varying sizes.

The role offers a defined career path, with opportunities to learn and grow within a leading multidiscipline firm. Some travel (>50%) is required to support site commissioning efforts across projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive experience in MEP design / construction administration, commissioning, building operations, test and balance technician, DDC controls technician, or other related industry experience
• LEED accreditation preferred
• Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Computer hardware/software/network expertise, as appropriate
• Ability to execute building commissioning and retro-commissioning tasks
• Commissioning Certification preferred (ACG CxT or CxA, or equivalent)
• Ability and willingness to travel (more than 50%)
• Knowledge in a majority of the following: Building Automation and controls systems, HVAC systems, Plumbing systems, Fire alarm/life safety systems, Lighting and lighting controls, Emergency power systems, Low voltage systems, Renewable energy systems

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning tasks on varied project sizes and types
• Work independently on smaller projects and collaborate with Project Managers and Commissioning Agents on larger projects
• Engage in design review through functional testing and system verification
• Travel to job sites as required to support commissioning activities
