Job summary

EXP is seeking a Commissioning Specialist to deliver comprehensive commissioning services for projects across North America, including San Diego and Denver locations. This role focuses on building systems, from design reviews to field testing, with a strong emphasis on owner requirements, documentation, and collaboration with contractors.

You will operate within EXP's Sustainability Sector, contributing to efficient, healthy buildings and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years previous experience in commissioning, mechanical and/or electrical engineering design, test and balance and / or building automation system check-out.
• Commissioning certification, or extensive installation and BAS programming experience.
• EIT Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review owner project requirements and develop commissioning plans and tests.
• Create commissioning specifications, field reports and final reports.
• Work with contractors in the field to resolve commissioning issues observed during testing.
• Develop and write systems manuals and commissioning checklists.

Be our next Commissioning Specialist

Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Sustainability Sector, providing commissioning services to clients across North America. Our sector supports both public and private sector clients as they work towards their goals for efficient, healthy buildings.

• Local and Out-of- State Travel to Client sites
• Reviewing owner project requirements
• Performing design reviews
• Developing commissioning specifications
• Creating commissioning plans, checklists and tests
• Performing field visits and observing commissioning tests
• Working with contractors, in the field, to resolve commissioning issues observed during testing
• Writing field reports and final reports
• Creating Systems Manuals

What Your Experience Looks Like

• 2-5 years previous experience in commissioning, mechanical and/or electrical engineering design, test and balance and / or building automation system check-out
• Commissioning certification, or extensive installation and BAS programming experience
• EIT Certification preferred

The pay range for this role is $100,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
