Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead installation and commissioning strategy for large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. You will oversee field execution teams, drive safety and quality, and ensure delivery on schedule and within budget.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in power generation, energy storage, or industrial infrastructure, with a proven track record of leading technical teams and complex projects across the Americas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline; extensive experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 10+ years of engineering experience within power generation, energy storage, utilities, or industrial infrastructure environments.
• Proven experience leading installation and commissioning activities for large-scale industrial or energy projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing and developing technical teams, field personnel, and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or related power systems.
• Experience with electrical controls, commissioning methodologies, project execution, and field operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate teams of Field Service Engineers, Technicians, and subcontractors performing installation and commissioning activities across energy storage projects.
• Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects throughout the Americas region.
• Establish, maintain, and continuously improve commissioning standards, procedures, work instructions, training programs, quality requirements, and safety protocols.
• Manage subcontractor selection, qualification, onboarding, and performance in collaboration with sourcing and project management teams.
• Support the development of RFQs, contractor evaluations, and commissioning service agreements.
• Partner with project stakeholders to ensure commissioning requirements are delivered on time and within budget.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to field teams, engineers, technicians, and subcontractors during project execution.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and safety teams to identify field issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Promote and maintain a strong "Safety First" culture across all installation and commissioning activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging operational feedback and project lessons learned.
