Job summary

Green Recruitment Company seeks an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead installation and commissioning strategy for large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. You will oversee field execution teams, drive safety and quality, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in power generation/energy storage, proven leadership of technical teams, and deep knowledge of BESS and electrical controls.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Establish and improve commissioning standards, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Manage subcontractor selection, onboarding, and performance with sourcing and project teams.
• Support RFQs, contractor evaluations, and commissioning service agreements.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery within budget.
• Provide technical leadership to field teams and engineers during execution.
• Work with engineering, quality, and safety teams to address field issues and implement corrective actions.
• Promote a strong 'Safety First' culture across all activities.

This leadership role is responsible for developing commissioning standards, managing field execution teams, driving safety and quality initiatives, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in power generation, energy infrastructure, and commissioning management, along with a proven track record of leading technical teams and complex industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate teams of Field Service Engineers, Technicians, and subcontractors performing installation and commissioning activities across energy storage projects.

• Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects throughout the Americas region.

• Establish, maintain, and continuously improve commissioning standards, procedures, work instructions, training programs, quality requirements, and safety protocols.

• Manage subcontractor selection, qualification, onboarding, and performance in collaboration with sourcing and project management teams.

• Support the development of RFQs, contractor evaluations, and commissioning service agreements.

• Partner with project stakeholders to ensure commissioning requirements are delivered on time and within budget.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to field teams, engineers, technicians, and subcontractors during project execution.

• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and safety teams to identify field issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

• Promote and maintain a strong "Safety First" culture across all installation and commissioning activities.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging operational feedback and project lessons learned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Extensive relevant industrial experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• 10+ years of engineering experience within power generation, energy storage, renewable energy, utilities, or industrial infrastructure environments.

• Proven experience leading installation and commissioning activities for large-scale industrial or energy projects.

• Demonstrated experience managing and developing technical teams, field personnel, and subcontractors.

• Strong knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), battery technologies, or related power systems.

• Experience with electrical controls, commissioning methodologies, project execution, and field operations.
