Job summary

M.C. Dean in Virginia seeks a Commissioning Engineer to perform final testing, startup, and commissioning of low and medium voltage equipment in both field and manufacturing environments. Local, regional, and national travel may be required.

Ideal candidates will have basic electrical knowledge, be able to review specifications, write technical documentation, and collaborate with project teams to ensure safe and successful commissioning activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent.
Associate's degree with relevant electrical experience.
High school diploma or GED with 6+ years of electrical experience.
U.S. Work Authorization required.

Responsibilities

Assists more experienced Commissioning specialists coordinating and reviewing electrical deliverables.
Prepares and reviews simple electrical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets.
Performs simple routine electrical calculations.
Reviews supplier documentation for compliance with specifications.
Uses the electrical engineering portal to access department guides and standards.
Basic knowledge of commissioning, inspection and testing of electrical components and systems.
Knowledge of basic electrical engineering theories.
Basic power system familiarity with switchgear, transformers, breakers, power panels, relays, UPS, and test equipment.
Proficient with technical writing.
Knowledge of advanced mathematics.
Basic awareness of industry codes and standards.
Good communications skills.
Willing to travel to customer sites periodically.
