Job summary

General Security Services Corporation in Minnesota is seeking a part-time Security Officer to join a fun, growing team dedicated to keeping our community safe. This position offers paid training, progressive pay increases, and opportunities for advancement.

As a Security Officer you will observe and report at client sites, patrol on foot or by vehicle, monitor CCTV, and ensure safety and security while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Pass State & Federal background checks and drug screen.
• English reading, writing and speaking required.
• GSSC Basic Training must be completed.
• No major driving violations in last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for security and safety of client property and personnel.
• Patrols assigned site on foot or in a vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
• Enforces required security regulations and procedures per Post Orders and Facility Security Plan.
• Responds to client inquiries in a timely manner.
• Monitors CCTV and alarm systems and responds appropriately where applicable.
• Ensures CCTV and alarm systems are functional where applicable.
• Handles emergencies with appropriate action per Post Orders.
• Generates clear written reports of shift activities.
• Maintains safe driving practices and vehicle care procedures.
• Creates a positive working environment and teamwork.
• Complies with GSSC policies, regulations, and client contracts.
• Interacts professionally with client personnel, vendors, contractors and the public.
• Delivers excellent customer service.

Prior Security, Military, Law enforcement, or Criminal Justice experience preferred, but we WILL train motivated candidates. Hours

This is a part-time position.

Sunday & Monday from 10:00pm - 6:00am (16 hours / week)

Security Officer Job Responsibilities

Security Officer Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have not had any major driving violations in the last 5 years
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• A US Citizen or Alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States
• Must pass State & Federal background checks and drug screen
• Ability to meet and maintain applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), administrative, customer service and organizational skills
• Must successfully complete GSSC Basic Training
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking
• Ability to project a professional and positive attitude while maintaining confidentiality
