Job summary

General Security Services Corporation (GSSC) DBA Midwest Patrol is hiring a full-time Patrol Officer. The role involves patrolling, responding to alarms, and ensuring safety across assigned sites, with paid advanced training including defensive tactics, OC spray, and firearms.

Candidates must have security, law enforcement, or military experience; prior patrol or armed security experience is a plus but not required. 40 hours per week with varied schedules and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

  • > Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
  • > Must have a valid driver’s license, pass MVR Check, and maintain driving record.
  • > Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • > Must be a US Citizen or authorized to work in the United States
  • > Must pass State & Federal background checks and drug screen
  • > Must complete GSSC Basic Training
  • > One year of Security experience (Military/LE/Corrections preferred)
  • > Ability to meet licensing requirements
  • > Excellent communication, administrative, customer service and organizational skills
  • > Proficient in Microsoft Office including SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Provide patrol services including driving to scenes, inspections, and incident response.
  • Check for unsafe conditions, hazards, security violations, and unauthorized persons.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and access devices.
  • Respond to alarms and rapid response needs.
  • Perform client contract inspections and facility checks.
  • Provide parking lot patrols as required.
  • Escort clients as requested.
  • Notify personnel of emergencies and problems.
  • Assist with issues and emergencies alongside post officers.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and staff.

General Security Services Corporation (GSSC) DBA Midwest Patrol is seeking to fill an immediate full-time Patrol Officer opening. At General Security Services Corporation (GSSC), security is more than a service - it's a responsibility built on trust, professional, and integrity. Since 1946, GSSC (DBA Midwest Patrol) has proudly protected the communities we serve through physical and electronic security solutions. Patrol Officers will be trained and able to respond to work in a variety of armed and unarmed security patrol assignments, to include alarm response, security enforcement & intervention. Paid advanced training includes defensive tactics, ASP (police baton), OC spray deployment, handcuffing, firearms, tactical shooting, and defensive driving. Candidates must have previous Security, Law Enforcement or Military experience or training. Previous patrol experience or armed security experience is a plus, but not required.

Hours

Patrol Officer Job Responsibilities

  • Provide shared guarding services to project a security presence, which will include operating a vehicle to perform patrol, inspection, and/or incident response services, alarm calls, service calls, maintains communication contact with appropriate personnel to report status or incidents, or to request additional assistance or response.
  • Check for unsafe conditions, hazards, security violations, and unauthorized persons.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and access devices.
  • Respond to alarms and rapid response needs.
  • Perform inspections of facilities as requested, per contract agreement, by clients.
  • Provide parking lot patrols as required.
  • Perform escorts as assigned and requested by clients.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of emergencies and problems at accounts as required.
  • Assist post Security Officers with problems and emergencies.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with clients and staff members.
  • Interact with clients and employees during inspections.
  • Assist client’s staff members, as necessary.
  • Process report inspections and incident reports in a timely and organized manner.
  • Ensure effective and consistent delivery of patrol services, per agreement, and intended mission goals.
  • Initiate and maintain open lines of communication with patrol personnel.
  • Comply with federal regulations and state regulations and statutes as it relates to each assignment.
  • Comply with all GSSC’s personnel policies and procedures as well as all specifications as determined by the client’s contract.
  • Assist with adult juvenile transport services.
  • Maintain equipment inventories and serviceability.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Patrol Officer Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, pass Motor Vehicle Record Check, and maintain appropriate driving record.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be a US Citizen or an Alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States
  • Must pass State & Federal background checks and drug screen
  • Must successfully complete GSSC Basic Training.
  • One year of Security experience (Preference for Military Veteran, Law Enforcement, Corrections or Security related)
  • Ability to meet and maintain applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), administrative, customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking.
  • Ability to project a professional and positive attitude while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Officer including SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook Teams and PowerPoint.
Physical, Mental And Environmental Requirements

  • Seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly.
  • Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
