Job summary

GSSC (DBA Midwest Patrol) seeks an Armed Airport Security Enforcement Officer in Minnesota to join a team safeguarding transportation facilities. You will enforce federal, state, and local laws, monitor CCTV, control access, and conduct interior and exterior patrols at assigned sites.

The role requires Minnesota POST licensure or eligibility, strong communication skills, a clean background, and the ability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Criminal Justice / Law Enforcement.
  • Must be or eligible for Minnesota POST licensure; non-MN licensure may be considered.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • A US Citizen or Alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must pass State & Federal background checks and drug screen.
  • Must successfully pass GSSC Basic Training.
  • Ability to meet and maintain applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking.
  • Professional and confidentiality-conscious demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
  • Patrols assigned site on foot or in a vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
  • Enforces required security regulations and procedures pursuant to Post Orders and or the Facility Security Plan pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
  • Responds to client inquiries in an expeditious manner.
  • Monitors CCTV and alarm systems and provides appropriate response where applicable.
  • Ensures all CCTV and alarm systems are functional where applicable.
  • Reacts appropriately, promptly and in accordance with Post Orders in emergency situations.
  • Generates clear and concise written reports of shift activities.
  • Maintains safe driving practices and vehicle care procedures as required.
  • Creates a positive working environment and strong teamwork.
  • Ensures compliance with all GSSC policies and procedures, federal regulations, state statutes, and specifications per client contracts.
  • Interacts professionally and engages with client personnel, vendors, contractors and members of the public.
  • Provides excellent customer service.

Education

Applicants MUST be Minnesota POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) licensed, had been licensed and or eligible to be licensed. Non-MN peace officer licensure may also be considered. Hours
  • Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00am - 3:00pm, and Monday - Tuesday from 11:00pm - 7:00am (40 hours / week); or
  • Overnights from 11:00pm - 7:00am (Part Time)

Summary

Reporting to the Post Supervisor – the Armed Aiport Security Enforcement Officer, is a vital team member providing security enforcement operations to the transportation industry. The Armed Airport Security Enforcement Officer - Armed is responsible for performing tasks such as, enforcing required Federal, State, and Local laws and ordinances, security policies and procedures, monitoring alarm systems, maintaining access control for visitors and employees and providing interior and exterior foot patrols of common areas of assigned facilities, parking areas, parking ramps, and adjacent lots.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or equivalent in the field of Criminal Justice / Law Enforcement
  • Must be or eligible for Minnesota POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) board licensure. Non-MN Law Enforcement Licensure may also be considered.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • A US Citizen or Alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States
  • Must pass State & Federal background checks and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications Include The Following
  • Valid driver’s license and clear driving record
  • 1 or more years of experience in the security, law enforcement, or military industries
  • Military, Veteran, Law Enforcement, Corrections or Security related experience
