Job summary

Corning Incorporated in the USA seeks a CPO Commercial Technology Director to align product, process, and commercial strategies with market needs in Silicon Photonics and CPO solutions. You will engage with customers, guide roadmaps, and drive cross‑functional programs across PLM, Marketing, and Engineering.

The role requires a Master’s/PhD and 10+ years in tech/product development, with strong leadership, communication, and global collaboration across time zones.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Physics, Engineering, Applied Science, or equivalent fields.
• 10+ years of experience in a technology or product development function in a technical/OEM setting.
• Experience in managing complex projects and leading multi‑functional teams in a fast‑paced competitive environment.
• Experience in directly or indirectly leading a team of technology and product developers.
• Frequent customer engagements at a technical level; convey value propositions clearly.
• Ability to collaborate across functional boundaries and mobilize others to meet objectives.
• Strong self-management and prioritization across multiple tasks.
• Fluency in English with excellent verbal/written communications, and clarity in presentations.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of current and future market needs in applications and technologies.
• Map market trends and technology roadmaps; identify gaps and recommendations for capabilities and new products.
• Establish ongoing relationships with technical counterparts among customers and partners in the CPO ecosystem.
• Participate in standards and industry forums to position Corning in Silicon Photonics and CPO technologies.
• Collaborate with PLM to estimate Corning’s addressable market and share potential in CPO.
• Refine value proposition with PLM and Marketing based on applications/use cases of CPO solutions.
• Support PLM, Technology, Research, Sales and Marketing as a commercial technology SME throughout lifecycles.
