Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Commercial Installer to work onsite with commercial customers, setting up and programming Integrated Security fire and security systems. The role includes dismantling and reconstructing equipment when required and coordinating with authorities on large projects.

Scheduling, safety, and precise workmanship are essential. Ideal candidates have strong blueprint reading skills, 4+ years of electrical/electronic experience, and a proven ability to deliver excellent customer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years electrical/electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely at all times.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install devices and dismantle/reconstruct equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
• Work safely to prevent injuries and protect property; clean installation debris.
• Contact customers ahead of installation to verify schedule.
• Prepare estimates per supervisor guidance.
• Follow wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
• Test system operation and connect to signal-receiving center.
• Read building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinate with police/fire departments; manage necessary records for emergency notifications.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
