Job summary

Capstone Roofing in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking a Commercial Roofing Estimator. You will evaluate opportunities from inspection through estimating, proposal, sales, and handoff, with a focus on maintaining margins and profitability.

You’ll engage with property owners, general contractors, and property managers, preparing competitive estimates and professional proposals while traveling to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Commercial roofing estimating experience is REQUIRED.
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation practices.
• Proven experience developing scopes, takeoffs, estimates and proposals.
• Ability to inspect roofs and identify problems.
• Understanding of labor, material, equipment and project costs.
• Understanding of gross profit, margins and profitability.
• Ability to read plans, specs and construction docs.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication with owners, GCs, PMs.
• Sales and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Review opportunities, plans, specs and project requirements.
• Conduct roof inspections and site visits.
• Evaluate existing systems and identify repair or replacement needs.
• Perform measurements and takeoffs.
• Develop detailed scopes of work.
• Estimate all project costs and margins.
• Prepare and present proposals to clients.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and photos.
• Follow up on proposals and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Production and Operations after a sale.
