Job summary

Whaley Foodservice located in Lexington, Kentucky, is seeking a Service Technician II to provide maintenance, service, and repair for commercial cooking equipment including grills, fryers, ovens, and refrigeration equipment.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience, possess a valid driver's license, and be able to work independently. Benefits include a sign-on bonus, company vehicle, and medical/dental coverage.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in commercial kitchen repair and/or refrigeration.
• Must be 18 years of age and pass a background check.
• Valid driver's license and driving record that aligns with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs commercial cooking equipment and refrigeration.
• Completes service calls accurately and on time.
• Ensures service vehicle and tools meet company standards.

Pay Rate: $28.00 - $35.00 /hour*

Summary

The Service Technician II provides maintenance, service, and repair for commercial cooking equipment and commercial refrigeration, including grills, fryers, ovens, ice machines, reach‑in and walk‑in coolers, and freezers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs commercial cooking kitchen equipment and refrigeration.
• Communicates status updates for part orders and repairs with branch support and customers.
• Completes service calls accurately and on time.
• Audits truck stock to ensure required parts are stocked.
• Ensures service vehicle, tools, and uniforms meet Whaley standards of safety.
• Meets on‑call requirements.

Required Education and Experience

• Three years of experience in commercial kitchen repair and/or refrigeration.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Completion of a satisfactory background check and drug screen is required.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record that aligns with our safety standards.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot: an automotive, electrical, installation, and mechanical background is a plus.
• Journeyman license and/or CFESA certification not required but would be a plus.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and soft skills.
• Good driving record.
