Job description

Join to apply for the Commercial Production Manager role at Gentry Service Group.

Summary/Objective: The Production Manager is expected to facilitate all aspects of commercial installations. They should maintain budget projections on each job, ensure quality standards through follow up and training of field mechanics and apprentices, and ensure projects are completed by timelines given and in a manner compliant with the company's safety policies and procedures. Oversee, motivate, and support field installation teams, in addition to acting as a liaison between salesman and the installation teams.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Qualifications/Experience:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years residential and commercial installation experience.
  2. Minimum of 2 years management experience and 5 years' service experience.
  3. Valid driver's license and insurable through company insurance carrier.
  4. EPA Certified.
  5. Valid North Carolina contractors H-3 license.
  6. Able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing.
  7. Ability to work with tools used in the job in a safe manner.
  8. Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
  9. Prioritization and Organizational skills; ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  1. Completion of HVAC training program.
  2. Nate certifications.
  3. OSHA 10-hour certification.
  4. North Carolina H-2 and H-1.
Essential Duties:
  1. Learn and properly recite company Mission Vision and Core Value statements.
  2. Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times.
  3. Attend training and participate in classes.
  4. Assist with training ideas and classes.
  5. Fully participate in company safety program including but not limited to attendance of all safety meetings and completing job safety analysis.
  6. Utilize all safety precautions and wear appropriate safety equipment at all times.
  7. Operate company vehicle following all Safety standards and applicable laws.
  8. Schedule cranes and rental equipment.
  9. Oversee and perform (when necessary) any HVAC replacement function to include design, installation, ductwork, gas piping systems and sizing.
  10. Troubleshoot any issues on projects that arise and help with warranty service calls.
  11. Be familiar with equipment accessories and IAQ products.
  12. Ensure all commercial installation practices and GSG quality standards are met, and ensuring codes are being followed.
  13. Supervise and train commercial installation teams to include problem solving, being a technical advisor, quality control, and first point of contact for conflict resolution.
  14. Complete necessary paperwork to support invoices, estimates, orders, inventory, timecards and other information provided to customers, coworkers, coordinators and supervisors as needed.
  15. Pick up parts, supplies and equipment from distributors in company vehicle as needed or required.
  16. Check out materials on inventory listing from warehouse.
  17. Obtain positive customer Google reviews.
  18. Complete weekly jobsite safety inspections.
  19. Assist sales team with project schedules and estimating jobs.
  20. Complete previous day time entry reviews in accounting and payroll system daily.
  21. Provide Customer support and training as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Commercial installation crews, liaison between sales team and field installation mechanics.

Work Environment:

Environment consists of extreme variations due to conditions, including but not limited to: heat, cold, wet, wind, sunlight, absence of light, insects, animals, mammals, reptiles and other conditions deemed by worksite.

Physical Demands:

Reaching, bending, stooping, walking, sitting, crawling, squatting. Holding, carrying objects and lifting - including heavy objects such as equipment up to 50 pounds individually and 300 pounds as a team. Use of tools and equipment such as hand tools and ladders including extension ladders.
