Job summary

First Horizon Bank is seeking a Portfolio Manager to assist in risk assessment and loan portfolio management. You will lead analytical reviews, underwriting, and the annual renewal process while partnering with Relationship Managers to grow a high quality loan portfolio.

You will work with CRE and C&I borrowers, manage due diligence, and guide junior team members in origination and servicing tasks. Strong Excel and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents; performs simple to complex calculations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with senior executives and staff.
• Accurate typing, spelling and grammar skills.
• Strong computer skills with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, underwriting, origination, and portfolio management of loans in a growing commercial and corporate portfolio.
• Apply loan structuring, risk identification, and risk mitigation skills.
• Understand and apply the Bank's risk grading methodology and credit appetite.
• Manage complex relationships with C&I and CRE borrowers.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers to develop lending proposals and cross-sell opportunities.
• Oversee post-approval due diligence and loan documentation preparation.
• Build and maintain a portfolio mix of high value, high potential clients, ensuring credit quality and servicing.
• Mentor junior team members and delegate origination and servicing tasks.
