Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead multi-discipline engineering projects from inception through completion, with emphasis on safety, quality, and cost control. Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering or related field and 7 years of applicable experience.
• Prior experience on construction project sites or executing program management in industries such as aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment; overtime on short notice.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work collaboratively with owners, contractors, engineers, designers in multi-disciplinary teams to resolve issues.
• Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-discipline engineering projects from concept to completion, covering safety, quality, engineering, procurement, construction, and compliance.
• Establish project teams, coordinate multiple disciplines, and optimize staff utilization.
• Manage all aspects of project communication.
• Lead RFP development, bid processes, and scope of work documents.
• Develop and monitor schedules, manage scope, and control costs.
• Serve as primary client contact for coordination, planning, and budgets; manage subcontracting and staffing.
• Review, negotiate, approve, and execute prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
• Lead internal and external project risk reviews with Risk Department.
• Provide detailed cost forecasts and accruals to clients and leadership.
• Oversee project controls including cost reporting, scheduling, and WBS establishment.
• Monitor progress; address concerns to improve schedules, budgets, and profitability.
• Manage contract closeout activities and drive new business development.
• Promote safety and compliance, participate in industry conferences, mentor staff.
