City of Cleveland is seeking a Commercial Plan Examiner to review commercial and residential construction documents for compliance with the Ohio Building Code and Cleveland codes. You will prepare correction letters, adjudication orders and plan approvals, and provide expert code consultation to applicants and professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering, or five years related experience.
• Full Ohio Board of Building Standards Certification as multiple examiner types, or ability to gain Residential Plans Examiner certification.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds.

Responsabilités

• Conduct plan examination for code compliance for commercial and residential construction documents.
• Prepare correction letters, adjudication orders and plan approval letters.
• Provide code consultation with applicants, design professionals, contractors and developers.
• Represent the Department at hearings and meetings including the Board of Building Standards and the Board of Zoning Appeals.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
