Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking a Commercial Multi-Family Sales Representative to identify sales opportunities, visit job sites, and close sales for commercial multi-family projects. You will develop customer relationships, provide product knowledge, and coordinate scheduling and delivery with store teams.

The role requires field experience in commercial multi-family construction, strong communication skills, and the ability to read blueprints and contract documents.

Qualifications

• Field experience in the commercial multi-family construction industry.
• Ability to read blueprints and contract documents for takeoffs and proposals.
• Understanding of specifications, codes and product submittal process for multi-family projects.
• Understanding of the multi-family construction schedule and ability to plan shipments to meet deadlines.
• Ability to review scope of work in awarded contracts.
• Demonstrated ability to create new sales opportunities and maintain relationships.

Responsibilities

• Meets and/or exceeds sales and profit goals by following up on sales leads, monitoring market trends, and growing the company’s reputation.
• Create proposals for presentation to general contractors and builders for products
• Ensures customer satisfaction by assisting with take-offs and communicating scheduling and delivery commitments.
• Visits general contractors and builders with store representatives to answer questions and assist in closing sales during the presentation process
• Collects and keeps up-to-date information on customers’ product use and trends
• Determines appropriate credit program based on customer’s needs.
