Job summary

Partners Legal Search is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its Philadelphia office. The ideal candidate will handle a broad range of sophisticated disputes and take ownership from inception to resolution.

You will manage matters, draft pleadings, conduct discovery, handle depositions, and participate in hearings and trial preparation. Experience with appellate work and supervising junior attorneys is valued.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• 3+ years of commercial litigation experience.
• Experience at a mid-sized or large law firm preferred.
• Strong pleadings, motions, discovery, and e-discovery experience.
• Deposition and courtroom experience.
• Appellate experience is highly valued.
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to independently manage litigation matters.
• Experience supervising junior attorneys is a plus.
• New York or New Jersey Bar admission is a plus.
• Strong academic credentials.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other filings.
• Handle traditional and electronic discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Prepare for hearings and trial.
• Assist with appellate matters and appeals.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
• Work directly with clients on case developments and strategy.
• Supervise junior associates where appropriate.
• Manage multiple matters at different stages of litigation.
