Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• 3+ years of commercial litigation experience.
• Experience at a mid-sized or large law firm preferred.
• Strong pleadings, motions, discovery, and e-discovery experience.
• Deposition and courtroom experience.
• Appellate experience is highly valued.
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to independently manage litigation matters.
• Experience supervising junior attorneys is a plus.
• New York or New Jersey Bar admission is a plus.
• Strong academic credentials.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.

The role offers broad exposure to general commercial litigation, appellate matters, discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation in a collaborative environment.

Role Overview

The associate will handle a broad range of complex commercial disputes and will be expected to take meaningful responsibility for active matters.

Responsibilities may include:

• Managing commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings
• Handling traditional and electronic discovery
• Taking and defending depositions
• Preparing for and participating in hearings and trial
• Assisting with appellate matters and appeals
• Conducting legal research and developing case strategy
• Working directly with clients on case developments and litigation strategy
• Managing multiple matters at different stages of litigation
• Supervising and delegating work to junior associates where appropriate

Candidate Profile
