Job summary

The Juris Agency is seeking a Commercial Lines Producer to build their own book of business, mainly with business owners. You’ll focus on commercial lines (about 90%), with some personal lines and life insurance.

Base salary is $42,000, with quarterly commissions after break-even and commissions on renewals. There is no cap, with earnings growing as your book expands to about $60k in year two and $80k+ by year three.

Qualifications

• Illinois Property & Casualty license (or willingness to obtain)
• Life & Health license required within 3 months of hire
• Sales experience a plus or aptitude for outbound business development

The role

We're looking for a Commercial Lines Producer to build their own book of business. You'll spend your time in front of business owners: finding new clients, understanding what they need, and putting the right coverage in place. About 90% of the role is commercial lines. The rest is personal lines and life insurance, usually sold to the same business owners you're already working with.

Experience is preferred, but not required. If you're driven, comfortable talking to people, and want to build something, we'll train you on the insurance side.

$42,000 base salary, so you can learn the business and grow your book with a steady paycheck

Quarterly commission checks on top of your salary once your production passes your break-even mark

• Meet with business owners to review their operations and risks, and recommend the right property, liability, workers' comp, auto and other commercial coverage
• Cross-sell personal lines and life insurance, including coverage for business owners such as buy-sell and key person
• Work with our carriers and underwriters to quote, place, and renew policies
• Keep your pipeline and client records up to date in AgencyZoom
• Partner with our CSR team, who handle day-to-day servicing so you can focus on selling

Requirements

• Sales experience of any kind is a plus: outside sales, retail, telemarketing, or insurance
• Comfortable starting conversations with business owners and building relationships over time
• Self-motivated and organized, since you'll manage your own pipeline and schedule
• A clear communicator who can explain coverage in plain terms
• Comfortable with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel)
• Bilingual is a strong plus
• An Illinois Property & Casualty license, or willingness to obtain one. We pay for your P&C licensing. An Illinois Life & Health license is required within 3 months of hire
