Position: Insurance - Commercial Line Account Manager (Mid Market Generalist)

Location: Dallas, TX

Salary: $70,000-80,000 depending on experience, knowledge, and qualifications

Position is in office, but will consider local candidates for hybrid remote.

Job Summary:

An Independent Agency is looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager with a generalist background to join their team. This position will be responsible for a significant book of business consisting of commercial accounts from a variety of industries. This individual plays a key role in maintaining relationships between the service team, clients, and insurance carriers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Coordinating annual marketing efforts and carrier negotiations;
  2. Providing detailed cost and coverage analyses;
  3. Answering client policy and coverage questions;
  4. Consulting with clients on mid-term policy changes;
  5. Providing monthly reporting of client values to carriers;
  6. Coordinating and conducting claim review meetings for selected accounts;
  7. Visiting client sites to identify potential exposures and needs;
  8. Reviewing loss analysis and completing risk management analysis;
  9. Working with producers to complete action steps necessary to close renewals, including gathering and researching risk management/insurance and renewal data for marketing;
  10. Securing the renewal of existing business with assigned accounts and overseeing activities related to the quality of service provided to clients;
  11. Collaborating with multiple producers within the Agency.
Required Competencies:
  • P&C License required
  • Advanced designations are preferred but not mandatory
  • Extensive knowledge of various insurance coverage products
  • Excellent negotiation skills with insurance carriers, brokers, wholesalers, and alternative risk markets
  • Ability to provide first-class service to assigned accounts, including certificate issuance, timely communication, and client education regarding insurance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with clients, insurance personnel, and third parties
  • Knowledge of claims processes, including participation in claim reviews
  • Risk management background is desirable
