Job summary

Ross & Yerger Insurance, Inc. in Jackson, MS is seeking a claims professional to assist Commercial lines property & casualty clients with reporting new claims and resolving existing ones.

You will evaluate coverage, investigate as needed, and enter data into our agency system while supporting colleagues on coverage issues. Responsibilities include monitoring large open claims, preparing risk analyses, and negotiating with carrier adjusters.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Three years property/casualty insurance work experience.
• Basic knowledge of property/casualty coverages.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with agency management systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist Commercial lines property & casualty clients with reporting new claims and resolving existing ones.
• Evaluate reported claims for coverage applicability and investigate as needed.
• Enter initial claim data into the agency system and update as new data becomes available.
• Assist colleagues in evaluating coverage issues and resolving claim problems for clients.
• Monitor activity on large, open claims for all clients.
• Prepare claim review portions of client stewardship reports and meetings.
• Prepare risk/loss analysis reports upon request from clients.
• Negotiate coverage, reserve and payment issues with carrier adjusters as needed.
• Present capabilities and demonstrate our claim services to clients.
• Train staff on claim procedures and coverage issues.
