Position Overview: The Commercial Account Manager is responsible for managing and servicing an assigned book of business by analyzing customers' individual needs, evaluating options, and offering tailored insurance solutions. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with existing customers and promoting the agency. The primary focus is on commercial Property and Casualty insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market, service, and promote the agency's products and services, developing and retaining customers strategically.
- Manage a designated group of premier customers by analyzing their needs, explaining coverage options, and recommending suitable products.
- Proactively manage accounts before renewal to identify concerns, competition, exposure changes, and additional coverage needs.
- Assist policyholders during renewal processes through effective communication and market knowledge, educating them on policy features and remarketing as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of the marketplace, building relationships with company representatives and underwriters, and exploring risk placement alternatives if coverage is unavailable in the admitted market.
- Prepare submissions, negotiate pricing and policy conditions with carriers, review quotations, and manage quotes and proposals to secure coverage within agency authority.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with producers and supervisors to provide market and customer feedback.
- Handle customer inquiries regarding risks, coverage, claims, new business, and endorsements.
- Ensure all renewals and account changes are properly implemented and compliant with company requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Operate independently with minimal supervision, making decisions within agency constraints and insurance laws.
- Maintain daily contact with customers and carriers, exchanging information, problem-solving, quoting, and negotiating.
- Possess thorough technical knowledge of commercial insurance and excellent communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or equivalent experience.
- Insurance experience is a plus.
- Must possess or obtain a Property & Casualty insurance license.
