Job summary

United Bank is seeking a Portfolio Manager in Shallotte, NC to lead underwriting, portfolio administration and credit quality for a defined loan portfolio. You will partner with lenders, treasury management, and internal teams to structure, present and close credit solutions.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in financial services, loan underwriting, and credit analysis, with a focus on risk management and client relationship growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of three years of financial services experience; commercial banking exposure highly desired.
• Experience with loan underwriting and credit analysis required.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and tax returns; strong regulatory understanding.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and support the commercial lending process with policy knowledge and risk assessment.
• Collaborate with lenders and treasury management to grow fees, deposits, and portfolio revenue.
• Manage full loan request cycle from evaluation to term sheet preparation.
• Liaise with bank departments, customers, and attorneys on loan transactions.
• Monitor renewals, covenant tracking, and documentation to address exceptions.
