Job summary

First Bank and Trust in Wilson, NC is looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager to support Commercial Loan Officers in managing a growing loan portfolio. The role combines underwriting, risk analysis, and loan documentation to ensure quality and timely administration.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years in portfolio management, strong financial analysis skills, and proficiency with Excel and Word. Excellent communication and client engagement abilities are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of portfolio management experience in banking or related field.
• Proven expertise in financial analysis, risk management, and due diligence processes.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage with clients professionally.

Responsibilities

• Support Commercial Loan Officers and portfolio relationships.
• Manage a commercial loan portfolio for quality, profitability, and growth.
• Underwrite and verify credit requests to ensure policy compliance.
• Serve as primary contact and account manager for assigned relationships.
• Assist in underwriting credit requests and risk assessments.
• Prepare loan packages, commitment letters, and credit narratives.
• Maintain accurate loan files and data integrity.
• Resolve loan-related issues and assist in closings.
• Monitor industry trends and portfolio risk indicators.
