Job summary

The First Bank and Trust Company in Wilson, NC is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to support our Commercial Loan Officers. This role involves underwriting, risk assessment, credit analysis, and loan documentation, with a focus on managing new and renewed loan portfolios and ensuring timely loan administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of portfolio management or related banking experience.
• Proven expertise in financial analysis, risk management, and due diligence.
• Proficient in Excel and Word; strong communication skills.
• Ability to interact with clients and manage loan portfolios with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Loan Officers.
• Assist with managing a commercial loan portfolio, ensuring quality, profitability, and growth.
• Complete new and renewed loan underwriting and verify credit request packages.
• Serve as primary contact and account manager for certain relationships.
• Assist in underwriting credit requests and risk assessments for new and renewing loans.
• Support loan packages, commitment letters, and credit narratives.
• Maintain accurate loan files and data integrity.
• Provide customer service by resolving loan-related issues and assisting in closings.
• Stay informed on industry trends and economic developments affecting the portfolio.
• Monitor past dues, overdrafts, and risk-grading processes.
