Apellis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Manager, Commercial Learning & Development - Operations to lead the infrastructure, governance, and standards that enable scalable, compliant learning programs across the Biogen franchise portfolio.

The role requires strong organizational, LMS, and cross-functional partnership skills, with oversight of schedules, systems, and analytics to drive efficiency and accuracy in a dynamic biotech environment. Hybrid work arrangement with travel expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years in project management, training operations, or commercial excellence within Life Sciences.
• Experience governing learning systems and processes in a commercial organization.
• Proven ability to scale infrastructure and standards in biotech or specialty pharma.
• Strong PM skills with ability to design, implement, and sustain operational frameworks.
• Deep LMS and digital platform knowledge; highly organized with attention to detail.
• Excellent collaboration and communication across Sales, HR, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the operations and governance model for Commercial Learning & Development, establishing standards and processes.
• Create and coordinate training class schedules and logistics across therapeutic areas.
• Support LMS structure, stand up, and improve systems like LMS, Veeva, and certification tracking.
• Standardize surveys, lead reporting and analytics with dashboards for performance.
• Develop the L&D calendars, scheduling, and project trackers for cross-functional alignment.
• Assist Training Managers with scheduling and territory organization for training delivery.
• Provide hands-on support for training initiatives and delivery as needed.
• Serve as liaison between admin support and cross-functional teams.
• Standardize communications and templates to improve stakeholder engagement.
• Lead onboarding, vendor management, and meeting coordination for learner experience.
• Partner to implement scalable solutions (intranet, governance, analytics).
• Act as strategic partner to Director on process improvement and infrastructure.
