Job summary

Tech24 in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Foodservice (Hot-Side) Technician responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing commercial cooking equipment at customer locations. This role requires strong troubleshooting ability, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

Technicians work independently in the field, ensuring kitchen equipment operates safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and support business continuity.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of commercial cooking equipment repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
• Strong gas and/or electric troubleshooting experience.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems and electrical components.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions.
• Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters.
• Own industry standard hand tools.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers).
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe, efficient equipment operation.
• Test components and verify proper operation after repairs.
• Document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in the company system.
• Communicate repair status, recommendations, and timelines to customers.
• Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked.
• Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Represent the company with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer service.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies.
• Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities.
• Participate in on-call rotation as assigned
