Job summary

Legacy Risk Solutions in Birmingham, AL seeks an experienced Commercial Lines Insurance Risk Advisor to build new business relationships and deliver customized insurance and risk management solutions to a variety of industries. You’ll identify client needs, present proposals, and collaborate with underwriters to secure favorable terms.

Ideal candidates have a P&C license and a proven sales record, strong communication and negotiation skills, and a self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset to grow

Qualifications

• Active P&C license required.
• 3+ years commercial insurance sales or business development experience preferred.
• Proven success developing new business and growing a commercial book of business.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, coverages, and risk management principles.
• Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with Applied Epic or similar agency management system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop new commercial insurance business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and community involvement.
• Identify prospective clients’ insurance needs and recommend customized commercial insurance and risk management solutions.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with business owners, executives, and decision-makers.
• Prepare and present insurance proposals while effectively communicating coverage options and value-added services.
• Collaborate with carrier partners and underwriters to negotiate competitive coverage terms and pricing.
• Work closely with Commercial Lines Account Managers to ensure a seamless onboarding and service experience for new clients.
• Conduct annual client reviews to identify evolving business risks, coverage gaps, and cross-selling opportunities.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently achieve new business production goals.
• Stay informed on commercial insurance products, market conditions, carrier appetites, and industry trends.
• Accurately maintain client activity and sales opportunities within the agency management and CRM systems.
