Job summary

Meredith College is seeking an entry-level to development-focused HVAC Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance on campus HVAC systems, under supervision. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of HVAC experience or completion of HVAC program.
• EPA 608 Certification (or ability to obtain within six months).
• Preferred: valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Change filters, belts, pulleys, and other routine maintenance components.
• Lubricate motors, bearings, and other equipment and components.
• Assist with troubleshooting heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
• Assist with inspection and maintenance of air-handling units, rooftop units, pumps, motors, boilers, chillers, and related equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical HVAC problems.
• Assist with routine and emergency HVAC equipment repairs and installations.
• Assist with refrigerant recovery and other refrigeration work under supervision.
• Use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely.
• Maintain accurate work order information in the CMMS.
• Learn campus HVAC systems, equipment, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout and safety procedures.
• Assist with repairs to chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, exhaust systems, and package units.
• Perform basic electrical and mechanical testing.
• Provide professional customer service to campus occupants.
• Participate in emergency response and essential personnel activities.
