Stellar Cooling Services in Tampa, FL is hiring a Commercial HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems. You will support school facilities and other commercial projects, with a focus on quality workmanship and customer service.

The role requires at least five years of experience, EPA Universal Certification, a valid FL driver’s license, and the ability to pass background checks. On-site work in Hillsborough County and the Tampa Bay area is expected.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of commercial HVAC service experience preferred.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and complete service calls.
• EPA Universal Certification required.

Job Description

Stellar Cooling Services is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician who can independently diagnose, service, and repair commercial HVAC equipment.

We are a locally owned and operated HVAC contractor serving the Tampa Bay area. This position will primarily support our ongoing work at Hillsborough County public-school facilities, along with other commercial and residential service work. We offer steady, year-round employment and an environment focused on quality workmanship, reliability, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems
• Service rooftop units, package units, split systems, heat pumps, commercial air handlers, DOAS equipment, and air-cooled chillers
• Troubleshoot low- and high-voltage electrical components
• Diagnose mechanical, refrigeration, electrical, and airflow problems
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and equipment schematics
• Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and facility managers
• Maintain safe and clean work areas, particularly on school properties
• Document work thoroughly using a company-issued iPad and field-service software
• Follow all company and school-district safety and access procedures
• Participate in the company's on-call rotation approximately one week per month

Required Qualifications

• Five or more years of commercial HVAC service experience preferred
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and complete service calls
• EPA Universal Certification
• Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a Level II background screening for school-facility access
• Ability to pass company drug screening
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
• Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
• Willingness to participate in the after-hours on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience servicing school-district or government facilities
• Experience with air-cooled or water-cooled chillers
• Manufacturer or OEM training and certifications

Schedule

• Full-time, year-round position
