KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing seeks an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to support NOVA facilities. You will diagnose and repair RTUs, chillers, VRF systems, and related equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and document findings for customers.

This role offers a $36-$44 hourly pay range, a take-home company vehicle, and ongoing OEM training plus licensing support. You’ll participate in an on-call rotation and grow within a team that values safety and long-term

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• Virginia Journeyman HVAC license or eligibility; we assist with exam prep and hours.
• EPA Universal Certification required.

• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections across diverse commercial clients.

Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Pay Range: $36 to $44/hr plus overtime | Take-Home Van | VA Tradesman Journeyman License Support

Location: Northern, VA

The Opportunity

We're looking for experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technicians to support customers throughout the Northern Virginia (NOVA) market.

If you're the type of technician who enjoys solving problems, takes ownership of your accounts, and would rather diagnose the issue than swap parts and move on, you'll fit right in. Our team serves a diverse portfolio of commercial facilities including schools, healthcare facilities, laboratories, data centers, government buildings, refrigeration warehouses and Class A office properties.

You’ll work on a wide range of commercial HVAC equipment, build lasting customer relationships, and join a team that invests in training, safety, and long-term career growth.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment, including RTUs and split systems (50 ton and above), VRF, heat pumps, hydronic and low-pressure steam boilers, pumps and pump packages, cooling towers, and chillers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections across a diverse commercial customer base.
• Create accurate service reports and clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
• Identify additional repair and replacement needs and provide solution recommendations that add value for customers using a digital platform.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• Virginia Journeyman HVAC license, or eligibility to obtain one (If you're eligible, we'll help you get there through exam preparation, fee reimbursement, tracked hours, and support under our Master HVAC license.)
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation (only once every 6-8 weeks!)
• Professional communication skills, both in the field and in service documentation.

Bonus Points For

• Building automation experience (Niagara, Metasys, Tracer, Desigo).
• Chilled water, boiler, cooling tower, or critical-environment experience.
• OEM training from Trane, Carrier, York/JCI, or Daikin.
• NATE, A2L, or other industry certifications.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish
