Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. is seeking a seasoned HVAC Technician in Bakersfield, CA to install, inspect, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for commercial sites.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, read blueprints, and follow safety practices while using hand tools and testing devices. A Journeyman HVAC license and EPA 608 certification are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field experience as Licensed Journeyman in HVAC.
• EPA Certification (608) Universal required.
• Commercial experience as HVAC and Refrigeration Technician.
• Knowledge and safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices.
• Must participate in ongoing training and have strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance including cleaning, filters, and lubrication.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC systems.
• Follow safety procedures and read blueprints as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Knowledge of chiller systems, refrigeration, heat pump, and HVAC equipment
• Responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment such as vacuuming, cleaning, changing filters, and oiling parts.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on HVAC systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field experience as Licensed Journeyman in HVAC
• Must have an EPA Certification (608) Universal License
• Commercial experience as a HVAC and Refrigeration Technician
• Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments.
• Participates in the ongoing training available to our crews to keep updated on the newest equipment and latest software for HVAC equipment.
• Strong oral and written communication required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Valid Driver’s license and able to maintain a good driving record.

Geographic Disclosure

Compensation Range: $48.41 - $56.95 per hour The hourly rate is determined by the CBA/rate sheet and test results. Benefits are provided through local labor union aligned with collective bargaining agreement.
