Job summary

EMCOR Services Mesa Energy is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician (Journeyman) to service and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment in the Palm Desert area. The role requires EPA 608 certification, a valid license, and strong diagnostic skills.

You will perform preventive maintenance and read blueprints while ensuring safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include installing and inspecting systems, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years field experience as Licensed Journeyman in HVAC.
• EPA Certification (608) Universal License.
• Commercial HVAC and Refrigeration Technician experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and use hand tools safely.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance: vacuum, clean, change filters, oil parts.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC equipment.

Job description

We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Our integrated, single-source solutions include turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance, as well as engineering applications and automated control systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Knowledge of chiller systems, refrigeration, heat pump, and HVAC equipment
• Responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment such as vacuuming, cleaning, changing filters, and oiling parts.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on HVAC systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field experience as Licensed Journeyman in HVAC
• Must have an EPA Certification (608) Universal License
• Commercial experience as a HVAC and Refrigeration Technician
• Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments.
• Participates in the ongoing training available to our crews to keep updated on the newest equipment and latest software for HVAC equipment.
• Strong oral and written communication required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Valid Driver’s license and able to maintain a good driving record.

Compensation Range:

$48.41 - $56.95 per hour The hourly rate is determined by the CBA/rate sheet and test results. Benefits are provided through local labor union aligned with collective bargaining agreement.
