Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Facilities HVAC Technician in Illinois to monitor, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems using BAS/BMS. You will work with BAS technicians, inspect equipment, and complete preventive maintenance to maximize life and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include reviewing work orders, handling materials, and maintaining a parts inventory. You will respond to emergencies, assist with vendors, and ensure safety compliance, including OSHA 10 within

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Universal CFC Certification required.
• 3+ years of commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience, or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, manuals and technical documents.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to personal safety and others' safety.

• Respond to internal service requests and facility support tickets.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment controls and building systems.
• Train and support other maintenance team members.
• Build positive relationships with internal customers, vendors, and team members.
• Follow company safety policies and OSHA requirements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience, or a combination of related education and experience
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, manuals, and technical documents
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to personal safety and the safety of others
• Ability to complete OSHA 10 certification within six months of hire
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PDF applications
• Experience working with building automation systems (BAS/BMS) preferred
• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred
• Basic knowledge of budgeting and maintenance cost management preferred
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb stairs or ladders
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in mechanical rooms and various facility environments
