Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to manage HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems across multiple commercial properties in Utah. You will maintain DX units, rooftop units, boilers, pumps, and ventilation, monitor energy use, and perform preventive maintenance per industry standards.

You will respond to emergencies, conduct safety trainings, maintain CMMS records, and support project work on shift with on-call duties.

Qualifications

  • EPA 608 Certification is required.
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of related work experience in operating mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
  • License/permit for trade such as Journeyman License or City Licenses may be required.
  • Universal Technician for CFC’s is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Basic computing skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with HVAC, boilers, pumps, refrigerant systems, and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of energy management systems and CMMS programs.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and adjust mechanical equipment, thermostats, diffusers, and other equipment.
  • Verify field conditions and perform repairs or adjustments.
  • Monitor energy management and efficiency.
  • Respond to emergencies and customer concerns.
  • Document and report activities to supervisor; follow safety training and dress code.
  • Work independently as needed on priority situations and on-call duties.

Job description

  • Perform all plumbing, electrical, or HVAC requirements of the building(s)
  • Maintain heating equipment, DX units, split systems, rooftop units, exhaust fans, pumps, fan coil units, VAV, small boilers, and air distribution systems
  • Monitor and adjust mechanical equipment, thermostats, diffusers, and other equipment
  • Verify field conditions and perform necessary repairs or adjustments
  • Monitor energy management
  • Repair doors, ceilings, hand railings, floors, and perform other general repairs, adjustments, and installations
  • Repair plumbing fixtures
  • Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with C&W standards, building protocol, manufacturer recommendations, and industry best practices
  • Inspect fan room equipment, motors, pumps, electric rooms, backup generators, fire pumps, sump pumps, and ejector pumps
  • Replace lamps, light fixtures, and signage; keep rooms clear of obstructions and debris
  • Inspect emergency exit signs, lights, stairs, and exits; perform fire and life safety inspections
  • Document and report activities to the supervisor
  • Respond immediately to emergencies and customer concerns
  • Comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency requirements, and company directives
  • Work independently as the only maintenance staff member on certain shifts and respond to priority/emergency situations
Requirements
  • EPA 608 Certification Required
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 5+ years of related work experience in operating mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting
  • Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required, i.e. Journeyman License or City Licenses
  • Universal Technician for CFC’s
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record with periodic checks (where applicable)
  • Basic Computing Skills in Outlook, Excel & Word
  • Experience in operation, maintenance and basic repair of HVAC, boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, water systems, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in energy management systems, techniques and operations
  • Thorough knowledge in all building systems operations, maintenance and repair including CMMS programs
  • Ability to work extended periods without relief during priority/emergency situations
  • May require shift work and/or on-call duties
  • Complete all required C&W Safety Training as scheduled annually
  • Comply with C&W Uniform Dress Code
