Carrier Global Corporation, a leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, is seeking a skilled Journeyman HVAC Technician to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This full-time, union position offers opportunities to work independently and collaboratively on a variety of HVAC installation, repair, and maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and recommend solutions
• Perform scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units
• Install, replace, or repair HVAC equipment, including calibrating thermostatic controls and repairing lines
• Assemble and install ductwork
• Assist in planning and designing new HVAC installations
• Estimate materials required for projects
• Read blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
• Ensure compliance with City, State, and EPA regulations
• Maintain effective customer relationships
• Operate vehicles and equipment safely
• Identify and mitigate safety hazards
• Participate in safety training and obtain necessary licensing

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 5 years of practical HVAC experience
• Ability to pass relevant examinations for Building Trades Journeyman
• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand or crawl for extended periods
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Current union member or willingness to join a union

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of building automation controls
• Experience with chillers
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with Salesforce and ServiceMax is a plus
