Job summary

Cortez Heating & Air in Bradenton, FL is seeking an HVAC Installation Technician to install heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems in residential and commercial settings. This role requires reading blueprints, installing ductwork, wiring, refrigerant lines, and testing performance to meet manufacturer specs and local codes.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of installation experience, HVAC certification (EPA a plus), and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

3–5 years HVAC installation experience in residential and/or commercial settings.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
HVAC certification; EPA certification a plus.
Valid driver’s license with ability to pass MVR.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and adhere to safety guidelines.
Familiarity with building codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Install HVAC equipment including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, RTUs, and mini-splits.
Read and interpret blueprints and manuals to plan installations.
Assemble, mount, and secure components; ensure proper alignment.
Connect electrical wiring, piping, ducting, and refrigerant lines per specs and codes.
Test systems for operation, efficiency, and safety; troubleshoot issues.
Maintain clean, safe work areas; communicate with customers about operation and warranty.
Collaborate with team members and project managers to complete projects on time.
Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards; maintain tools and vehicles.
