Job summary

Cortez Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking an HVAC Installation Technician to install heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems in residential and commercial settings. You will ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company standards while delivering high‑quality work and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include installing furnaces, A/Cs, heat pumps, ductwork, RTUs, and mini-splits; reading blueprints; wiring and piping; testing

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years HVAC installation experience in residential and/or commercial settings.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with building codes, manufacturers, and industry standards.
• EPA Certification a plus; HVAC Certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC equipment including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, RTUs, and mini-splits.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to plan installations.
• Assemble, mount, and secure HVAC components with proper alignment and operation.
• Connect electrical wiring, piping, ducting, and refrigerant lines per specs and codes.
• Test installed systems for proper operation, efficiency, and safety.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and adjust as needed.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas during and after installations.
• Communicate with customers about operation, maintenance, and warranty.

Overview

The HVAC Installation Technician is responsible for installing heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems in residential and commercial settings. This role ensures that HVAC systems are installed according to manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company standards while delivering high‑quality work and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, rooftop units (RTUs), and mini‑splits
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to plan and execute installations
• Assemble, mount, and secure HVAC components, ensuring proper alignment and operation
• Connect electrical wiring, piping, ducting, and refrigerant lines according to manufacturer specifications and local codes
• Test installed systems for proper operation, efficiency, and safety
• Diagnose and troubleshoot installation issues, and adjust as needed
• Ensure all work areas are clean and safe during and after installations
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding system operation, maintenance, and warranty information
• Collaborate with team members, project managers, and other trades to ensure timely and accurate project completion
• Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working order

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of HVAC installation experience [Residential and/or Commercial]
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• HVAC Certification [Technical school certification preferred]
• EPA Certification a plus
• Valid Driver’s License with ability to pass company’s MVR requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly and adhere to all safety guidelines
• Familiarity with building codes, HVAC equipment manufacturers, and industry standards

Hourly Pay Range: Min: $30.00 / Max: $40.00

Hourly Pay Range: $35 USD - $40 USD
