Job summary

Cortez Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking an HVAC Installation Technician to install systems in residential and commercial settings in Florida. You will read blueprints, assemble components, and ensure systems meet manufacturer specs and local codes.

Qualifications

• HVAC installation experience (3–5 years) in residential and/or commercial settings.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• HVAC Certification preferred (technical school).
• Valid driver's license with ability to pass MVR.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and follow safety guidelines.
• Familiarity with building codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC equipment including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, RTUs, and mini-splits.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and manuals to plan/install.
• Assemble, mount, and secure HVAC components with proper alignment.
• Connect electrical wiring, piping, ducting, and refrigerant lines per specs and codes.
• Test systems for operation, efficiency, and safety.
• Diagnose installation issues and adjust as needed.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas during/after installations.
• Explain operation, maintenance, and warranty to customers.
• Collaborate with team and other trades to ensure timely project completion.
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper order.
