Job summary

Cortez Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking an HVAC Installation Technician to install heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems in residential and commercial settings. You will ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications, codes, and company standards while delivering high‑quality work and customer service.

The role requires 3–5 years of installation experience, the ability to read blueprints, and a strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to plan installations.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Valid Driver's License with ability to pass MVR requirements.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly and adhere to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, rooftop units (RTUs), and mini-splits
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to plan and execute installations
• Assemble, mount, and secure HVAC components, ensuring proper alignment and operation
• Connect electrical wiring, piping, ducting, and refrigerant lines according to manufacturer specifications and local codes
• Test installed systems for proper operation, efficiency, and safety
• Diagnose and troubleshoot installation issues, and adjust as needed
• Ensure all work areas are clean and safe during and after installations
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding system operation, maintenance, and warranty information
• Collaborate with team members, project managers, and other trades to ensure timely and accurate project completion
• Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working order
