Job summary

Elliott-Lewis is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Installer with 15+ years of hands-on installation, replacement, and commissioning for commercial facilities in New Jersey. This is a union role; we welcome non-union candidates who are interested in becoming unionized.

You will lead journeymen and apprentices, supervise crews, and coordinate with Project Managers and customers while ensuring code compliance and quality standards on challenging retrofit and new installations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years hands-on HVAC installation experience.
• Experience with Commercial RTUs, AHUs, VRF/VRV, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and hydronic piping.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Leadership experience overseeing journeymen and apprentices.
• OSHA10 completed and valid driver’s license.
• Experience working in occupied commercial buildings (healthcare, industrial, institutional).

• Install commercial HVAC equipment and associated piping/ductwork
• Perform equipment changeouts and retrofit projects
• Collaborate with crane picks and rigging operations
• Complete startup and commissioning activities

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• Experienced in working on:
  • Commercial rooftop units (RTUs)
  • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
  • Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF and VRV) systems
  • Boilers (hot water and steam)
  • Chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled)
  • Cooling towers
  • Hydronic piping systems
  • Sheet metal ductwork installation
  • Refrigerant piping and controls coordination
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and mechanical drawings
• Leadership experience
• Strong troubleshooting and startup experience
• OSHA10
• Valid driver's license
• Experience working in occupied commercial buildings such as healthcare, industrial, and institutional facilities

Physical Requirements

• Frequently Required:Walking.Max carry 75lbs.Push/pull 40-75lbs.Exposure to hot and cold temperature.Working at heights.Operate motorized equipment.

• Occasionally Required:Standing, bending, or twisting. Kneeling, crouching, stopping, and crawling. Repetitive motion. Working with arms raised over head. Working on or from ladders. Exposure to high sound levels.
