McMillan James Equipment Company is seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Technician to join our team. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing complex HVAC systems while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance on RTUs, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and VRF systems. BPA integration and ERP documentation are part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC installation, maintenance and repair.
• EPA Universal certification required.
• HVAC certification preferred.

• Conduct routine preventive maintenance to maximize performance and longevity.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal HVAC codes and safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, facility managers, and contractors on system design and performance.
• Document all work performed and parts used in the ERP system.
• Respond to emergency service requests, including weekends/after hours.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of commercial heating and cooling systems, troubleshooting experience, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing complex HVAC systems while ensuring compliance with all industry regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including RTUs, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and VRF systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and perform necessary repairs efficiently.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to maximize system performance and longevity.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal HVAC codes and safety standards.
• Collaborate with building engineers, facility managers, and contractors on HVAC system design and performance.
• Document all work performed, including service reports and parts used using company ERP system.
• Respond to emergency (weekends/afterhours) HVAC service requests as needed.
• Stay up to date with advancements in HVAC technology and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

• HVAC certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
• EPA Universal certification required.
• Knowledge of electrical and refrigeration systems, including troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) is a plus.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces or extreme weather conditions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e., Smartphone, iPad).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
