Job summary

The Port of Anacortes is hiring a commercial landscaping professional to manage the appearance, health, and safety of landscapes across its marina, terminal, airport, and leased properties. The role requires hands-on work, equipment operation, and coordination with seasonal staff and tenants.

You will diagnose issues, adjust watering schedules, prune plantings, apply fertilizers or pesticides, and document work in the maintenance system while upholding high safety and quality standards

Qualifications

• Minimum: HS diploma or GED and 3+ years in landscape/grounds maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass annual respirator fit test.
• Ability to obtain WA Pesticide Applicator license within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day appearance, health and safety of landscapes across Port properties.
• Manage commercial-scale landscaping at marina, airport, terminal, and leased properties.
• Balance planned seasonal work with on-site needs; prioritize and address issues.
• Operate equipment safely and follow manufacturer instructions and safety requirements.
• Diagnose issues, document work in Port’s maintenance system, and communicate with tenants and visitors.
• Guide seasonal employees and coordinate with Port operations and partners.
