Find Great People | FGP is partnering with a well-established commercial construction organization to add an experienced Estimator / Sales Project Consultant to our Greenville, SC team. This role blends estimating expertise with business development and client relationship management to win profitable work in a high-growth market.

You will review plans, perform takeoffs, develop pricing, prepare bid packages, and pursue opportunities while building relationships with contractors and industry

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial construction estimating and related client-facing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs and bid documents.
• Established relationships in Greenville, Spartanburg and Anderson markets preferred.
• Proficiency with OST, QuickBid, Bluebeam and Excel.
• Strong sales, negotiation and business development skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; highly organized.

Job description

We are partnering with a well-established commercial construction organization adding an experienced Estimator / Sales Project Consultant to their Greenville, SC team. This newly created position offers the opportunity to combine estimating expertise with business development and client relationship management in a high-growth market. The individual will play a key role in securing profitable work, building relationships with contractors and industry partners, and supporting successful project delivery. This role is ideal for an estimator with strong interpersonal skills who is interested in advancing into future leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, architects, developers, owners, and other industry partners throughout the Upstate market.Review plans, specifications, and bid documents for commercial construction projects.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for drywall systems, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, insulation, specialty ceilings, and related scope areas.
• Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and vendor pricing.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, budgets, and scope letters.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and potential project risks.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, project walkthroughs, and site visits.
• Track upcoming opportunities and actively pursue negotiated and hard-bid projects.
• Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and follow-up activities to secure new business.
• Negotiate project scope, contracts, and pricing while protecting profitability.
• Participate in project turnover and handoff meetings with operations and project management teams.
• Assist with change order pricing, budget reviews, and ongoing project support.
• Monitor local market trends, labor conditions, material pricing, and construction activity.

Required / Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial construction estimating, project consulting, sales, or customer-facing construction experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Established relationships within the Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson construction markets are highly preferred.
• Proficiency with construction estimating and takeoff software, including OST (On-Screen Takeoff), QuickBid, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong sales, relationship-building, negotiation, and business development skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple bids, deadlines, and client relationships simultaneously.
• Understanding of labor productivity, material costs, market conditions, and project profitability.
• Construction Management degree or related educational background is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to visit local jobsites and customers throughout the market.
